Our Story
There have been three themes repeated over and over in our brief history of existence since 2019. First, the people at Now Church Orrville have always been willing to make sacrifices for the mission of the church. Many have donated countless time, dollars, and talents to make Christ like disciples through the work of Now Church. Because of our willingness to sacrifice we have seen God bless our efforts with lives being changed, homes being mended, and the gospel being proclaimed throughout all of Wayne County.
Secondly, there has always been a willingness to be the innovator in ministry methods. This comes from a willingness from the leadership to hear new and fresh ideas from people of all ages, backgrounds, and ethnicity. We know that we live in an ever changing world, but we also know that the good news of the Gospel never changes. We have always made it a priority to find new and creative ways to share the Gospel with new people who need to hear it.
Finally, Now Church has made it a priority to make and impact on the community around us and be a means of grace to the world around us. We know that worship doesn’t stop on Sunday morning, but it goes on every single day. We continue to do our best to carry out the words of the Apostle Paul as he addressed the Christians in Rome with these words, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1) We know worship is an integrated part of every believer’s life. We have been created to worship God.
We see worship happening monthly as our volunteers go out into our communities and distribute food, being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. We see worship happening around fellowship tables sharing a meal with one another reflecting on the importance of friendship that our Lord displayed to His disciples. We see worship happening in lifted hands of victory of people coming up out of the watery grave into a new life in Christ Jesus breaking the chains of addictions and sin. We see worship happening in our young people standing hand-in-hand together in public settings boldly proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their friends and family.
The greatest act of worship that we could put on display for the world to see, is a love for God and a love for others. We have not perfected that at Now Church, but we continue to pursue deep relationships with God, and a passion to love the world around us for His glory. It’s been a great year at Now Church because we worship a great God. Worship is so much more than the 20 minutes before the sermon on Sunday mornings, it is our desire that Now Church would be filled with believers who worship in spirit and in truth each and every day of the week.
